Do you agree everyone deserves the dignity of having clean clothes, despite their financial situation? We do too!
That’s why we are taking The Laundry Project nationwide, so that people who are going through challenging times can go to their neighborhood laundromat and wash their clothes with non-toxic and safe laundry products FOR FREE.
What is The Laundry Project?
The Laundry Project is a movement that started in Suttons Bay, Michigan in 2004. It provides free laundry services to 1,000’s of people weekly in two participating laundromats over 5 counties in Northern Michigan.
We simply decided to take this local mission across the country… FAST!
Poverty is a paradigm that stretches to every corner of the world, from small rural towns to bustling cities.
We are on a mission to provide free laundry soap to people in need all across the USA with the help of laundromat owners… and we need YOU to be part of the movement!
A ripple effect of sustainable change begins with you. Right Here. Right Now.
Here’s how we help:
For every single non-toxic laundry refill we ship to our members, we will provide laundry day for someone in need. You can learn more about us here. #RefillForLife
Here’s how you can help:
Encourage your local laundromat owner to #PayLifeForward and join The Laundry Project. Laundromats are the social center of most neighborhoods and will now serve as a place where needs are met with provision.
We only ask that laundromats open for a minimum of 4 hours monthly (ideally more) to freely serve their community. When they do, MyGreenFills will ship non-toxic laundry products to bless the patrons of The Laundry Project for free.
But this is about so much more than soap.
If you don’t happen to own a laundromat, no worries. You can still show your support by only frequenting laundromats that participate in The Laundry Project or by bringing The Laundry Project to your city if it isn’t already. (More on that later!)
“We control the destiny of our country with our wallets and should only spend our money with businesses that align with our values.”
Imagine your neighborhood where…
- Struggling families don’t have to choose between clean clothes and groceries.
- Homeless people can confidently interview for jobs… and land them!
- Children can go to school in fresh outfits – regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
- A rainy day doesn’t mean living in wet, “mildewey” clothes until you’re able to afford to wash them.
- Your local laundromat offers a warm, safe space for those in need to wash their clothes – free from cost, stares, or judgment.
We believe that world is possible.
When a man experiencing homelessness was asked how citizens could best help him, he responded, “If I had clean clothes, I think people would treat me like a human.”
And when a mother of two, working a minimum wage job and still struggling in poverty expressed her embarrassment in sending her children to school with clothing that needed to be laundered…we listened.
“A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats…”
This movement will provide millions of loads of laundry for free for those in need. We are challenging Laundromat owners and community leaders to rise up and serve selflessly.
